Create the perfect lounging experience with this unique handwoven and embroidered cotton hammock.
Take home this exquisite hammock, meticulously handcrafted using the ancient Berilo weaving technique, a tradition that has been lovingly passed down through generations of Brazilian women artisans who have dedicated themselves to the intricate processes of carding, spinning and weaving cotton fibres. Whether indoors or in your garden, this versatile piece beckons you to unwind and relax.
Please note that slight variations in colour and design may occur due to the handmade nature of this product.
This product comes from the town of Berilo, nestled in the Jequitinhonha River Valley in the state of Minas Gerais, in Southeast Brazil, a region renowned for its exceptional weaving craftsmanship. While this rural community primarily cultivates beans and corn, it's the income generated from their textile production that sustains their families' essential needs.
Process: Berilo weaving is a manual technique performed on a two-frame "liço" loom. This distinctive process creates raised patterns in the fabric during weaving, making each hammock a unique piece of traditional craftsmanship.
Care: Wash with mild soap and air dry in the shade without wringing. Do not use bleach-containing products. Do not spin dry, as the delicate fibers may be damaged. Do not dry clean.
Material: Naturally dyed cotton
